The final of the one-off US Championship matches, Cena faced off against Sami Zayn in a barnstormer in Canada that served as Zayn's main roster debut. It wasn't technically his debut as he'd taken part in a tag match a year earlier, but who cares about true accuracy? Zayn was introduced by Bret Hart too, getting a major ovation from the Montreal crowd.

And then Sami Zayn injured himself by being a little too excited during his entrance.

I'm almost certain we'll get to see John Cena vs. Sami Zayn again at some point further down the line, but if we don't this was a damn fine match to hang that hat on. Despite having just the one working shoulder Zayn gave it everything as only he does, and even Michael Cole upped his game to put in a great performance here.

Cena pulled out the win, but the 1-2-3 wasn't the biggest loss for Zayn. He would miss months of action as a result of his pre-match injury.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
