Mysterio's in a similar position as Christian because he's a former World Champion that's in the twilight in his career and has dealt with a lot of injuries in the past few years. Every time he comes back it seems like it's just a temporary thing because his knees keep causing him a lot of problems. There were reports recently that Vince McMahon may just add on another year to Mysterio's current deal because he's missed so much time the last couple of years, but there's no guarantee that is going to happen either. One of the best things about Mysterio is that he's still doing well in terms of selling merchandise. Kids love buying those Mysterio masks. Selling merchandise is important and as long as they keep on buying it's going to help his status in the company. If Mysterio was released or asked to be released he could probably make some big money doing a final tour wrestling in Mexico where he's extremely popular. However, he may just want to finish his career in WWE and then take a job with the company once he's officially retired. For now he's still there, but it wouldn't surprise us if he got released.
