It's important to state before we move on that, no, Danhausen will never become WWE or World Heavyweight Champion, or at least he shouldn't. That would be utterly ridiculous and a genuine cause for Paul Levesque to be dismissed from his creative responsibilities.

That said, WWE needs to capitalise on their latest merchandise machine before the meteoric buzz dissipates.

Danhausen's debut at the Elimination Chamber went down like a wet fart in a packed office elevator post-microwaved-tuna. He was sent out to die, though that was admittedly WWE's fault; it has practically become pro wrestling law that every major tease will leave the majority of fans feeling underwhelmed. 2 days later, however, the audience fell in love with him, almost as if his Chamber appearance had never happened.

By WrestleMania 42, Danhausen was sharing the ring with John Cena in a segment that saw Cena visibly corpsing at his antics. This was either Cena being a lot more relaxed now that he's retired from the ring, or he understood the magnitude of what WWE has in Danhausen.

Going by the numbers, it's the latter.
