10 WWE Superstars Who Are Nothing Like Their Gimmicks In Real Life
6. Kevin Owens
The gimmick: In the past month alone, Kevin Owens has talked trash about his boss’ children, got into a fight with that very same boss and, of course, headbutted an unsuspecting 72-year-old grandfather. And if we continue to look back a little further, his track record doesn't get much better.
On more than one occasion he’s happily turned on his supposed best friends, including Sami Zayn on his first night in the company and Chris Jericho at the Festival of Friendship.
It's hardly the kind of example you’d expect from someone who used to claim to be a family man. Boiled down, Owens’ gimmick is basically that of a self-centered prizefighter who’s solely concerned with looking out for number one.
In real life: Okay, turns out Kevin Owens—or rather, Kevin Steen—is actually a pretty great family man, and despite what he does on television, he sets a pretty good example outside of the ring as a spokesperson for NHTSA in their #BuckleUp and #DriveSober campaigns.
And to top it all off, it seems he’s also a fairly loyal friend, having ranked the debut of Adam Cole as one of his favourite moments in WWE.
