The re-introduction of Karrion Kross to the WWE Universe should be considered one of Triple H's biggest successes since he assumed creative control of the company.

Remember how pathetic Kross looked when he lost to midcard veteran Jeff Hardy to a roll-up in under three minutes? Or the unforgivable gimp outfit he strolled out to the ring in a few weeks later? The man was dead in the water, and it seemed like he would pass through the company without leaving anything behind but a meme.

But that's all changed now.

Accompanied by his wife, Scarlett Bordeaux, Kross shockingly returned to SmackDown and blindsided then-number one contender, Drew McIntyre. Moments later, Scarlett presented Reigns with the signature hour glass as the 'Changer of the Timeline' made his intentions clear.

Karrion Kross will be WWE Champion.

The man has the look, the promo skills, the manager and the skillset to be the main guy, but taking it from Reigns would rocket-strap him instantly. How we get there is a little tricky, but considering Kross is likely to defeat the previous challenger at Extreme Rules, surely 'The Tollman' shouldn't be far off from a title shot?

Another physical match-up would await, and watching Kross choke the life out of Reigns would be a hell of a visual, akin to Samoa Joe rendering Brock Lesnar unconscious five years ago.
