10 WWE Superstars Who Could Win A Rebooted King Of The Ring

9. Triple H

Famously, Triple H was all set to win King of The Ring in 1996 but then the honour was preemptively stripped from him as part of his punishment for the 'Curtain Call'. Instead, the tournament’s winner that year was Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Sure, Trips “got his win back,” so to speak, becoming King of The Ring the following year, but by then Austin was well on his way to becoming the biggest star the wrestling industry had ever seen while The Game, despite genuine talent and a knack for backstage politics, spent years struggling to be accepted as a truly top tier superstar.

Now he has a bit more clout backstage, to put it lightly, is it beyond the notoriously insecure veteran to book himself an accolade none of his Attitude Era peers can lay claim to? Two time King of The Ring winner? “King of Kings” indeed!

Also, if Trips will insist on working 25 minutes on every pay-per-view it might be a good idea to break those minutes up across the rounds of a tournament rather than one, long, slow, methodical slog.
