Rumours are rife that Jay White will be heading to WWE having finished up in New Japan Pro Wrestling, or at least the main arm of it, and make no mistake about it: they would be signing one hell of a ready made star. So much so, that it would be a shock if he didn't go the AJ Styles route of bypassing NXT completely, where, let's face it, he would be wasted.
'Switchblade' is built for the big leagues, and having him arrive on the scene in the run up to Money In The Bank would instantly install him as one of the favourites and WWE would be doing themselves a favour by pulling the trigger on him. Capable of playing a conniving, nasty piece of work, White holding the briefcase so early in his run would make him unbearably cocky.
Also, Jay White in a multi-man ladder match sounds like box office, and it would allow him to introduce himself properly to the mainstream. With the in-ring and mic skills to fit seamlessly into the main event of either show, the former NJPW Heavyweight Champion would be a great outside bet for the win. They just have to get his signature on the dotted line first.
It would also be another flex at AEW, considering he defended that title on their Forbidden Door show just 12 months prior.
