4. Rusev

At WrestleMania 31, the 'Bulgarian Brute' emerged with a beautiful woman by his side and atop a tank for his match against John Cena. Then the WWE United States Champion, he looked for all the world like he would catapult into the main event scene following his feud with WWE's poster boy.

That didn't happen, the Summer of 2015 was a woeful one for Rusev. WWE split him from Lana, effectively removing one of the biggest sources of his heel heat in the process, and his resultant rivalry with Dolph Ziggler was booked poorly.

Since then, Rusev has simply not recovered.

As part of the League Of Nations, he has shown personality, but the group have hardly been threatening on a regular basis. Rusev's performances didn't change, it was those writing storylines who dismantled the aura of his character piece by piece.

Following the League, what is next for the physically-impressive Bulgarian? He's further away from the top line stories than he was at this time one year ago, which is concerning.

WWE have a job on their hands if they want to rebuild him as a serious contender.
