10 WWE Superstars Who Desperately Need A Character Change In 2015
4. Curtis Axel
Curtis Axel, son of the legendary Curt 'Mr Perfect' Hennig, is one of the more underused stars in the WWE today. He is a serviceable in-ring talent, but suffers from a crippling lack of charisma that has kept him down in the bottom reaches of the card since he split from elite mouthpiece Paul Heyman. Ten years ago, Axel would've been a rarity as a third-generation performer in the WWE. However, in 2014, that alone is not enough to help Axel become recognised in the competitive WWE roster. He received a lot of TV time earlier in 2014 as part of tag team RybAxel, although his work with Ryback failed to translate into anything really meaningful and Axel was easily the less interesting member of that pairing. In order to make an impact now that Ryback is back in the singles upper card, Axel is going to have to do something drastic with his character in order to win television time outside of the little-watched WWE Superstars programme. It's easy to see Axel as an arrogant heel, convinced of his own ability between the ropes and allowing that to lead his gimmick. The key for him is injecting some personality. If he is allowed to pick up wins over several midcard babyfaces, he could be in the mix for one of the midcard title belts.
