10 WWE Superstars Who Desperately Need A Character Change In 2015
3. Emma
To those who haven't seen any of Emma's work in NXT, it might seem odd to read that the Australian is comfortably within the top five most talented female wrestlers on the WWE roster. Since being promoted to Raw and Smackdown in January, Emma's stellar ring work hasn't had the opportunity to register given the awful way her character has been booked. From her first appearance on the main roster, she was embroiled in a weird comedy angle involving Santino Marella that left her saddled with endless mixed tag matches against Layla and Fandango. The segments rarely went for more than a couple of minutes, which meant that Emma had no hope of putting on matches as good as the tremendous battle she had with Paige at NXT Arrival. Emma had proven she could go in the ring and was immensely likeable, but she was booked into a comedy corner, from which she has been unable to escape. Emma is seldom seen on WWE TV now and mostly exists as enhancement talent for the latest heel Divas. She would benefit from a brief absence from programming in order to refine her fun-loving gimmick. It's important to retain the clumsiness that makes her so endearing, but her character should be shown to leave all of that aside when she steps between the ropes. A simple interview package would be enough to cement this, allowing fans to see more of the woman beneath the bubbles and the silly dance. With a few shots of her training hard and some dominant victories in the ring, Emma could become a real asset to the flagging Divas division.
