10 WWE Superstars Who Don't Dress The Part

6. Dolph Ziggler

Repackaged from Nicky of The Spirit Squad to the heel Dolph Ziggler, Nicholas Theodore Nemeth should have had a decent run from around 2008 to 2012. Yet, even back then, his character wrestled with inconsistent booking. However, the numerous times Ziggler stole the show and neared main event status made fans get behind the bleach-blond Show-Off in shiny trunks.

But his followers could only back a loser for so long.

His championship reigns were often short-lived. One year after being the sole survivor for Team Cena (a match that also involved Triple H and Sting), Ziggler was jobbing out to Tyler Breeze. The same pompous jerk in glitter fans once felt would become a main player in WWE simply continued to lose night in and night out - and his image was tarnished.

Most recently, the Show-Off traded all of his more colorful gear for black tights, but changing the color of his attire hasn’t been enough. He is the same man underutilized by WWE year after year. Upon winning the US title, Ziggler dropped the belt and left WWE altogether, which will most likely tie into a future gimmick. But if Ziggler returns with the bright blond hair and familiar apparel, the WWE Universe may not be able to look past his loss record.

In order for Ziggler to play a more serious role and be taken more seriously, he is going to need a complete redesign akin to his metamorphism from a cheerleader to a ringmaster.
