10 WWE Superstars Who Don't Dress The Part
5. The Undertaker
Throughout most of his reincarnations, The Undertaker remained true to his western mortician roots. When the black cloth and spandex (along with the purple gloves) were traded for leather, and The Deadman grew out a Satan-like goatee, he not only dressed the part but couldn’t have looked more like an ominous force in WWE. But then the American Badass and Big Evil personas followed, showcasing a more human version of The Phenom. By the time ‘Taker finally decided to return to his darker origins around 2004, he never looked quite the same.
Prior to 2000-2003, the last version of The Phenom we saw was the Minister of Darkness, who wore a draped hooded robe and summoned lightning from his fingertips. He sat on a throne shaped after his cross-like TX symbol, surrounded by fire, and even delivered promos from his own dark temple.
The Undertaker that returned in 2004 still wore the same style of tights and tank-top as Big Evil, and the only hints that fans witnessed at the same Demon of Death Valley were a leather trench coat and Stetson hat. There wasn’t—and hasn’t been—much of anything unique about the present-day Booger Red; dozens of similar-looking men can be found during a rainy night in Texas.
The blander appearance makes it seems as though ‘Taker is simply a brawler who prefers staying dry, rather than an evil superstar with supernatural powers.
