10 WWE Superstars Who Don't Live Up To Their Nicknames

5. Curtis Axel - 'The Axe Man'

Only a handful of wrestlers can legitimately call themselves 'axe men'. Taking the literal route, Terry Gordy under the hood of The Executioner had the right. Wailing electric guitarists such as Man Mountain Rock and Van Hammer also get a free pass. Curtis Axel? Not so much.

Sure, it's in his name, but what does that mean? Demolition Ax and, to a more obtuse extent, Beaver Cleavage, both made reference to hatchets in their titles, but neither went around claiming to be 'axe men'. Axel is entirely unbefitting of the sobriquet.

Suggested new nickname: The Anticlimax Man

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
