10 WWE Superstars Who Helped Define Extreme Rules
2. Randy Orton
But for all his star power, Lesnar hasn’t had quite the association as that Randy Orton has had with the show.
He’s made a joint-record six appearances, winning thrice and losing thrice, but has danced the dance with some of the very biggest names in the company today.
His first two appearances saw him taste defeat, first against Batista for the WWE Championship and then against Jack Swagger for the World Heavyweight title. That was followed by a hat-trick of sorts, as Orton beat CM Punk, Kane and Big Show in successive years between 2011 and 2013.
To cap it off, Orton assumed the veteran role as he reunited with his Evolution cronies in a losing effort versus the Shield, giving him a Hall of Fame-worthy back-catalogue of competitors at the Extreme Rules PPV. And that’s not even mentioning his WWE Championship title shot that he’s been afforded this year.
The list of men to have out-performed Orton at Extreme Rules is a very short one, in fact there’s only really one name on it…
