10 WWE Superstars Who Went AWOL After WrestleMania

8. Triple H

Ascending to the dream spot as a part-timer with a guaranteed WrestleMania match, Triple H has joined The Undertaker as one of the scant few to be virtually assured of a contest at the 'Showcase of the Immortals' even if he virtually disappears from one year to the next.

Losing the WWE Title to Roman Reigns in a supposed blood feud payoff which saw Stephanie McMahon take a spear at WrestleMania 32, Hunter didn't appear again for months, and when he did it was only to disown former protege Seth Rollins to set up his next programme at the 'Show of Shows'.

Walking the line between heel authority figure on Raw and popular NXT kingpin has been challenging for 'The Game', but his radio silence following defeat to Reigns was particularly jarring following his unlikely Royal Rumble victory and rejuvenated 3 month run with the industry's top title afterwards.

Though his abrupt absence was presumably to give Reigns breathing room with his newly-won title, the total lack of atonement beyond the defeat almost made it seem as though Roman hadn't really finished the job, especially when 'The Game' returned as intense as ever when he did eventually re-appear.
