Edge delivered arguably the most famous move in TLC history when he speared a hanging Jeff Hardy from fully 16 feet at WrestleMania X7. It was the culmination of high spots and big bumps like this that forced him to retire in 2011, less than a week after successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII. Edge, along with Christian, won the first two WWE TLC matches before embarking on a singles runs. If Edge thought he was getting away from TLC, he was sorely mistaken. He has been involved in four more TLC singles matches and has a good record. He can boast wins over Ric Flair, The Undertaker plus a fatal four-way win over Kane, Del Rio and Rey Mysterio. Edge's only singles defeat came at the hands of John Cena when he took another devastating bump through two tables, from the top of a ladder, landing bottom first. The 11-time World Champion suffered a serious neck injury that would keep him out of action for over a year in 2003 before tearing his Achilles tendon and nearly ending his career. In 2011, a series of MRIs and strength tests showed Edge had a condition called cervical spinal stenosis, meaning he could never wrestle again as he was at the risk of paralysis. That risk was one too far for Adam Copeland, who is now forging a successful acting career on the Syfy series Haven.
