10 WWE Superstars You Didn't Know Had World Title Matches
9. Paul London (vs. Brock Lesnar) - SmackDown 2003
Quite a way to make your television debut in the WWE... London would go on to be one of the best, and most openly underrated in the eyes of the powers that be for that matter, workers in the company during his six year stint in the big time. He found himself in a match with Brock Lesnar with the WWE Undisputed Championship on the line after merely going to Vince McMahon and asking for a try out match. McMahon, incensed with some of the things The Undertaker was doing on SmackDown at the time, stuck London in a match with The Beast. Obviously, the high flyer and future Tag Team Champion was more than a little bit reserved about the possibility of stepping into the ring with Brock so initially rejected. Vince then made it a championship match and London accepted. Like Ryder, it's needless to say that London, who was billed as a 'local wrestler' in this match, was squashed. He then took a ridiculous beating after the match, receiving an F-5 to the ring post in the process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK2451gMbP0
