For those that don't recall or weren't fans of WWE 20 years ago, Ahmed Johnson was the #2 babyface in WWE throughout most of 1996. He burst onto the scene as the guy that slammed the mighty Yokozuna, a feat only ever accomplished on TV before by Lex Luger during his massive Lex Express push of 1993.

Ahmed became the first African-American Intercontinental Champion and seemed to be on course to be a major player in WWE's future, regardless of any in-ring limitations he may have had.

Those high points are familiar to many fans, but the side of Johnson's career that isn't is the few weeks spent in mid-1997 as not only a heel, but as a member of longtime arch nemesis, Farooq's, Nation Of Domination.

Ahmed had been feuding with Farooq dating back to July 1996 and spent the next year trying to fight off the Nation Of Domination. So when he joined the NOD and was headed for a WWF Championship match against The Undertaker at Canadian Stampede, it came as a huge shock.

As was often the case throughout his career, injuries derailed Ahmed's run as a heel and Vader subbed for him at the In Your House event. When Ahmed returned, the Nation turned on him shortly after SummerSlam 97, meaning his heel run lasted but a matter of weeks.
