Adult fans remember Roman Reigns as a heel, but chances are most of WWE's youthful fans have already forgotten that Roman Reigns debuted as one-third of a vicious, pack-of-wolves-like, villainous group.

This isn't to say that WWE's younger audience has forgotten about The Shield - quite the contrary. It would be almost impossible not to remember The Shield faction with all of the hype WWE has put around the trio leading into the upcoming Battleground pay-per-view.

Fans remember The Shield, but many fans, especially kids, may not realise The Shield started out as rotten heels.

Despite the ratings and numbers indicating that WWE's core audience are males over 50, kids are the company's prospective core audience. Kids are often the fans that drink the Kool-Aid and buy the stories that WWE tells them, and right now the story is that Roman Reigns is a babyface and top good guy.

Sure, post-WrestleMania he's been a lot more gray than black or white, but there's no question he is still protected and presented as a top hero.

What the future holds is always in question, but younger fans likely need a reminder that their top good guy began not as a good guy, not as the guy, but as a bad guy.
