10 WWE Survivor Series 2018 Impulse Reactions
3. NECK STUFF
...because the post-match left an uneasy taste in the mouth, even if it probably wasn't as unpleasant as the blood that pooled in Ronda's.
Triggering a disqualification finish with a brutal kendo stick shot, Charlotte completely snapped on her foe with the device, snapping it over her back after a sick series of thwarting thwacks. The assault wasn't borne out of nothing either.
The two had battled relentlessly before Flair took Rousey to school first with the wooden item and later a steel chair used to Pillmanize her neck. Though this was criminally mis-sold as Ronda mournfully took the long walk backstage, the rest of the attack was absolutely incredible. Flair attacked with a fire in her eyes unseen since a 2017 babyface turn, whilst Ronda continued to sell like a woman broken tonight but better tomorrow.
A lingering concern - if you're a particular way inclined - was that this entire post-match beating was a transference exercise from WWE. Charlotte was (and presumably still is) the ultimate chosen one to take part in the company's first all-female WrestleMania headliner if they can justify it. Flair harnessed heat in such a way here that Ronda herself was booed as she lay in a heap.
Quick, send for 'The Man'.
