10 WWE Survivor Series 2018 Impulse Reactions

2. The Dream Match

Daniel Bryan Brock Lesnar Survivor Series
WWE

Daniel Bryan had been hoping to see this match on a WWE whiteboard for years, and though he probably never imagined he'd only have five days to formally prepare for it, he did at least bear out his long-held passion for the idea by crafting something oddly beautiful with 'The Beast'.

It was deliciously loaded with un-Lesnar-like moments as Brock's battle with AJ Styles was last year. The pair went 20 full-on minutes for starters - this sort of content and quality was the type of action nobody in the WWE (or known) Universe knew Brock still had - testing his physical mettle for real just as it did when he lay in great discomfort with a tapping hand suspended in air.

Of course, he was never going to tap out, but the fact that the spot was so well earned by the Universal and WWE Champion spoke to the supreme and sublime special case that was this blistering main event. Lesnar's entire body will still be purple at WrestleMania, the state Bryan left it in. The 'YES!' man himself can't have loved the hard german suplexes either...unless he did. Unless it was this physical and emotional creative freedom that had been the dragon he was chasing all along. He certainly found the belly full of fire, at very list.
