Okay, maybe I was somewhat misleading with the title of this slide. Survivor Series is obviously not better attended than WrestleMania, given that these days Mania sells out some of the biggest stadiums in the world. But that wasnt always the case. Back in the 1990s, Survivor Series actually managed to post higher attendances than the purported Biggest Show of the Year on three separate occasions. The first instance came in 1991, with the second two arriving during the pro wrestling boom in 1997 and 1998. Sure, you could argue that the only reason Mania was under-attended was because it was hosted in smaller venues. But there are a lot of factors that go into the booking of an arena, one of which being the confidence in your ability to sell-out that arena. And for WWE to have booked Survivor Series in those larger venues is indicative of how much confidence they had in the show and just how much of a success it was.
