10 WWE Survivor Series Facts You Didn't Know

3. Highest Buy-rate Was In 1998

The 1998 instalment of Survivor Series has featured prominently throughout this list, and here it is again with another notable stat to its name. The show did indeed post the highest buy-rate in Survivor Series history, with a cool 478,000 people purchasing the PPV. Since then, the closest challenger to that record was the infamous 2001 edition, which featured the much-maligned Winner Take All Team WWF vs. Team WCW showdown. Regardless of your thoughts on that one though, the strong buy-rate pretty much justifies the decisions behind the angle€”in Vince McMahon€™s eyes, at least. Going back to the record-breaking 1998 show though, that was also the best-attended Survivor Series in history. Almost 22,000 fans packed out the Kiel Center in St. Louis, beating the previous record of 21,300 which had been set at the very first event. All in all, 1998 was certainly a year to remember for Survivor Series.
