Long before the pro wrestling world even knew what the 'Montreal Screwjob' was, a pair of young lions went head-to-head in a truly refreshing main event. Headlining the 1992 Survivor Series, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels went over 25 minutes in their singles bout for the WWF Heavyweight Title.

This was a heavy contrast to the previous year's title match, a slow-moving affair between Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker. Looking like they'd been shot out of a cannon, Michaels and Hart impressed everybody with their slick exchanges and conditioning. This was a new kind of WWF Title match, and a real example of experimentation from Vince McMahon.

Whereas it's true Survivor Series 1997 featured a more controversial situation between Hart and Michaels, it didn't feature a better wrestling match. Not quite at loggerheads in '92, the duo worked extremely well together and looked like they had something to prove.

If you're sick of the screwjob talk, stick on Survivor Series 1992 and witness both Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels revolutionising the WWF product.
