10 WWE Tag Teams That SURELY Didn't Happen (...But DID!)

2. Nia Jax & Tamina

Labelling the union of Nia Jax and Tamina amongst the most powerful and dangerous tag teams in WWE’s history is not wholly inaccurate, but probably not for the reasons the two women probably want.

Having gone back and forth as opponents for a few weeks prior, Jax and Tamina joined forces at the unfortunate detriment of Ember Moon, whom had just been defeated by Jax in November 2018. The pair made their proper debut as a tag team the night after Survivor Series, with a victory Bayley and Sasha Banks, beginning a six month alliance.

The duo initially feuded then-RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and her various pals, culminating in Jax unsuccessfully challenging Rousey for the title at TLC in December. They then became part of the brand new Women’s Tag Team division, being present at the crowning of the inaugural champions – Bayley and Banks – at Elimination Chamber 2019. Jax and Tamina challenged for the belts again, coming up short at Fastlane and once more in a very iiconic match at WrestleMania 35.

This would be Nia’s last bit of action for a year, as she required surgery on both ACLs, leaving Tamina to idle on Main Event and eventually, the 24/7 division.
