10 WWE Things That Only Made Sense With Hindsight
7. Paul Heyman's Mind Games
Next to Sean O'Haire, Paul Heyman is probably wrestling's greatest advocate, but he doesn't always get it right. Case in point: his decision in 2002 to ditch Brock Lesnar to manage Big Show instead, a double-cross that was preceded by weeks of trying to talk 'The Next Big Thing' out of defending his WWE Championship at Survivor Series.
At the time, it seemed more than a little odd that Heyman was essentially playing down Lesnar's chances of beating Show, particularly off the back of back-to-back pay-per-view victories over Undertaker and SummerSlam's ground-shifting main event.
But things made sense when it became clear that Heyman was doing the bidding of his new client all along (even if dumping Brock for an older, slower model might be called into question).
