10 WWE WrestleMania 32 Opponents For Stone Cold Steve Austin

9. Chris Jericho

Why It Should Happen: It's the battle of the podcast hosts! Okay, so that's not exactly the most alluring tagline for a major WrestleMania match, but there's a little bit more to it than that. Austin was hosting a WWE Network podcast before he ruffled some feathers and was replaced by, you guessed it, Y2J. Not only has Austin been replaced as podcast host, but he's also been replaced as the host of Tough Enough, as revealed in a press release sent out on May 7th. That's two major gigs that have been taken away from the Rattlesnake and given to Jericho. While Austin won't harbour any real-life resentment towards Jericho (the two are good friends) it's still a decent basis to start a wrestling feud. Austin and Jericho have clashed in the ring before, with mixed results. They notably had a bit of a shocker in the main event of Now Way Out 2002 and have never really had a truly great match together. Both would probably welcome the chance to redeem themselves. As far as promos go, these guys are naturals and would no doubt engage in many entertaining microphone battles. What Are The Chances: Doubtful. WWE do not see Jericho as a major star. He's not in the same league as a Rock, Lesnar or even a Triple H. That much should be clear. Hell, WWE even allow Jericho to return for the sole purpose of wrestling on house shows, not TV and PPV. The Ayatollah of Rock and Roll's last WrestleMania match was against the lowly Fandago at WrestleMania XXIX. His next WrestleMania match probably won't be against a megastar like Austin.
