History tells us that WWE may not stick with this Dirty Dawgs SmackDown Tag Team Title reign for particularly long, though the duo are helped by a lack of credible babyface challengers at the moment.
WWE have just done the Dawgs vs. Street Profits. That isn’t to say they won’t go back to it, but that feels like it would be better served on another pay-per-view - perhaps Fastlane or Elimination Chamber. Get the rematch out of the way before WrestleMania and let a new set of contenders rise in Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins’ place.
Enter the Mysterios, who have been treading water since the awful Murphy/Seth Rollins rivalry concluded. Dominik is currently screwing around with Baron Corbin while Rey is doing a whole lot of nothing. Instead of continuing down those paths, why not throw them together, give them a run at the tag straps, and pull off the win at ‘Mania?
This feels like a logical step in Dom’s development, as he doesn’t need to be as intensely involved in tag matches. Teaming with his dad should prevent his greenness from showing. On top of this, Ziggler and Roode are two solid old pros who know what they’re doing and will do the job with dignity, putting this story over the top.
