10 WWE WrestleMania Matches That Infuriated The Fans

1. Brock Lesnar Vs. Roman Reigns

In the not too distant future, entire books will be written that focus only on the saga of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. WWE’s obsession with crowning Reigns on the biggest stage has bloated beyond parody, offering diminishing returns with every passing year. Reigns beat Triple H at WrestleMania 32, nobody cared. Then he beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, but still, nobody cared.

For WrestleMania 34, Vince McMahon had a bigger plan. Brock Lesnar was going to carry the Universal Championship for, well, forever, becoming ever more hated along the way. A variety of challengers stepped to the plate, only for Lesnar to defeat them after hitting just one F-5. All of this was to build to Reigns overcoming the odds at WM34.

And so it came to pass, except not quite. Lesnar smashed Reigns all over the place, hitting suplexes and F-5s with gay abandon, hitting six of the latter before defeating The Big Dog. Yes, WWE built up this moment for an entire year, only to just have Lesnar win anyway.

The fans quite rightly revolted against the match, showing way more interest in crowd fights and beach balls than the hugely physical contest going on inside the ring. Never in WrestleMania history has a crowd so comprehensively turned its back on a match, let alone the main event for a top championship.
