9. Winning And Losing

While most wrestlers would love to be in just one WrestleMania match, some have had the opportunity to compete in multiple matches at 'Mania. But more isn’t always better for some guys, as this item shows.

At least nine men have competed in more than one match at WrestleMania (not counting battle royals). Yokozuna is in a league of his own, wrestling twice on two occasions, at WM IX and X. He also is the only person to win and lose the same title at the same WrestleMania.

A few other men have triumphed and suffered heartbreak on the same night. Bret Hart lost to brother Owen Hart in one of the best PPV opening matches in WWE history at WM X. Hart then went on to beat Yokozuna for the WWF Championship in the main event.

Seth Rollins lost to Randy Orton at WM 31, then cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase in the main event to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Then there’s the case of WrestleMania IV, where a 14-man tournament for the vacant WWF Championship led to several men winning early round matches, only to lose later on. Ted DiBiase, Don Muraco, One Man Gang and Greg Valentine all won at least one bout before losing. Of course, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage won four straight matches that year to win the vacant WWF Championship.

Lastly, it’s worth mentioning Hulk Hogan at WM IX, who lost a tag title match with Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake against Money Inc. by DQ, then defeated Yokozuna for the world championship in an impromptu bout.
