You'd be hard pushed to find a better first year in WWE history than the one AJ Styles has had. Styles began the year by losing to Shinsuke Nakamura in the Tokyo Dome, before making his debut in WWE at the 2016 Royal Rumble. This was followed by a WrestleMania feud with Chris Jericho, before a number of WWE Championship matches against Roman Reigns.

Styles' summer heel turn led to his first WWE Championship win, a sight that even the most optimistic AJ Styles fans didn't expect to see. Styles defended that title against Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin on the last SmackDown Live of the year, ending an incredible first year in WWE as The Champ That Runs The Camp.

So what is there for Styles to achieve in 2017? Simple. Many may want to see John Cena vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, but the man who will provide the best match for 'Taker at the Show of Shows must be the number one worker on the planet, The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles.

AJ Styles has achieved more in his first year in WWE than many do in their entire career, so why not aim high? Styles should be looking to face and defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
