10 WWE Wrestlers Already Dreaming Of AEW

2. Chad Gable

He is wanted there, that much is certain; "I know a lot of his friends want him go to AEW," Dave Meltzer recently revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio.

One of those friends is surely FTR's Dax Harwood, against whom Chad Gable worked some of the most blistering, euphoric matches in WWE history. They were so good that "NXT" and "tag team" aren't needed to marginalise their achievement. Harwood took to Twitter earlier this year and gently teased Gable's arrival, posting "I know you’re not allowed to respond to me publicly for about 2 more months..."

He tweeted that in March. Gable's contract didn't expire in May. It's now October. Unless he signed an extension, Harwood was likely stirring his beloved sh*t.

"Sh*t" is a perfect word to describe Gable's booking in WWE, incidentally. He's on TV more often than he has been in years, but only in short, repetitive bursts. Gable doesn't know any different. He is a from-scratch product of the WWE system. He won't experience nostalgia for an independent circuit he never worked, nor marvel at how AEW has adapted its expressive spirit onto the nationally televised stage. He is also a fairly private individual who has barely committed anything to public record, much less any hint towards a gripe.

So who knows?

But if his friends want him in AEW so desperately, he's surely entertained the possibility in the group chat. If he's a Stand Up For WWE Rollins type, his mates probably wouldn't bother feeding it to Uncle Dave.
