10 WWE Wrestlers Buried By Words Alone

1. JBL

A lot of these examples seem pretty harsh on the "buried" wrestler, but not this one. JBL, one of WWE's leading backstage mischief-makers (if you believe online reports, anyway) totally had it coming - and there was no better man to wield the shovel.

The Wrestling God's dressing down came courtesy of Paul Heyman during a glorious in-ring segment at One Night Stand 2005, wherein the former ECW mastermind addressed members of the Raw and SmackDown rosters hiding up in the stands.

Edge earned himself a well-deserved tongue-lashing as well, but Heyman saved his best one-liner for the man in the cowboy hat. "The only reason you were WWE Champion for a year," he said, "is because Triple H didn't wanna work Tuesdays."

Like all great jokes, it was funny because it was more or less true. If he really fancied it, The Game genuinely could have held both belts during the early-to-mid 2000s, and JBL was essentially naught more than a stand-in.
