10 WWE Wrestlers Buried By Words Alone

3. CM Punk

Was it petty of Stephanie McMahon to randomly bring up CM Punk's debut UFC defeat during a promo, more than two years after the Straight Edge Superstar had walked out of the WWE exit door? Sure.

Then again, Punk has had plenty to say about his ex-employers. It's likely that she, along with husband Triple H, has been eager for their side of the story to be heard too, but has been forced to bite her lip all this time out of professionalism.

Besides, there was provocation from the Chicago fans. They just wouldn't stop chanting the Straight Edge Superstar's name, and to her credit, the zinger she came up with - however low a blow it may have been - certainly helped to silence them.

As for Punk, he was momentarily buried (as he undeniably was on the night of his first bout in the Octagon) but it's not like it's going to give him any sleepless nights. He took a bold step in moving into the world of MMA, and knew that there would be plenty of haters waiting for him to slip up.
