When Dave Meltzer appeared on Chris Jericho’s podcast, the two further peeled back WWE’s curtain with one of the more interesting tidbits involving Dolph Ziggler.

According to ‘Y2J,’ Pat Patterson saw something special in Ziggler that Vince McMahon didn’t fully appreciate. The idea was that Vince intentionally buried the three-time All-Mid-American Conference Champion simply because he loved Patterson’s disenchantment.

Some argue McMahon intentionally ruins some of his talents, whereas others find it difficult to believe he’d waste millions to rib someone backstage. If Jericho is to be believed, though, it is possible to look back at Ziggler’s career and see how this might have been the case.

To understand his wishy-washy position, gander no further than his WrestleMania history. During his first appearance, Ziggler didn’t have a match and instead served as a lumberjack. Outside of 35, Ziggler appeared at the ‘Granddaddy of Them All’ every year since his debut.

A losing record is to be expected with him, but what might catch you off-guard is that he only won one out of the ten matches he competed in. Notable losses include falling short to John Morrison and Snooki from Jersey Shore, and every single time he entered the André battle royal.

These days, it appears Ziggler isn’t moving up the card anytime soon and looks to be just fine with accepting McMillions and some outside vocational freedom to (well…) simply not go anywhere else.
