10 WWE Wrestlers DOOMED Without Vince McMahon

2. Goldberg

Goldberg has long been WWE's go-to panic option, with Vince McMahon breaking glass and unleashing Bill when faced with an emergency regularly since his successful 2016 comeback.

That initial program opposite Brock Lesnar was as effective as it was bombastic. Unfortunately, the WCW icon's goodwill started eroding shortly afterwards. Super ShowDown 2019 saw him contest one of the most shambolic matches in WWE history opposite The Undertaker. The Dolph Ziggler squash aside, he has since become a nuisance: a part-time interloper heinously positioned in World Title and other high-profile feuds against fan favourites. Yet another modern example of WWE using its past to screw the present.

WWE continues to book Goldberg and others of his ilk in these spots because its current, Vince McMahon-created "stars" cannot draw the same levels of interest. This is something Triple H will likely look to change now that he has the pencil. Whether or not he'll succeed in reviving the spluttering WWE star-making machine is in question, though he'll have absolutely taken stock of the response to recent feuds with Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns when considering Goldberg.
