Hello, he is Elias and...his recent run as phoney brother Ezekiel was as one-note as you're likely to get from pro wrestling. Admittedly, Zeke and Kevin Owens did do their best to make the whole thing entertaining, but they didn't have a lot of great material to work with.

'You're Elias'. 'No I'm not'. 'Yes you are'. 'No, I'm not!' was hardly thrilling.

Trips ditched the fake family tree idea in favour of bringing Eli back as a guitar-playing gimmick in mid-October. Almost immediately, Elias started goofing around with weekly stoner Matt Riddle (thus kinda/sort of replacing Randy Orton as his regular tag partner), and that's still a pairing WWE wants to get over.

Will it work? Hmm, the jury's out on that one. However, teaming with Riddle and carting his guitar around is better than repeating the same barefaced (literally) lies every Monday night. Elias almost had to go backwards to come forwards.
