10 WWE Wrestlers Who Are Having A Very, Very Bad 2020

8. Authors Of Pain

Is it just AoP now? Authors of Pain was a bit of a hokey name, but any name is better than a faceless acronym. Either way, the former NXT Tag Team Champions seem to be cursed on the main roster. They can’t catch a break, although they seem to have no problem catching tears and other injuries. As it stands, Rezar is going to be on the shelf for most of 2020.

He suffered a torn biceps in a multi-man schmozz on RAW, bravely battling through the rest of the segment despite being the most figurative one-armed man in an arse-kicking contest. AoP had not long returned to WWE television following Akam’s leg injury, immediately moving into a high-profile spot alongside Seth Rollins. There’s no good time to get injured, but doing so when a major top tier run is in the offing must count as worse than most.

What now for Authors of Pain? Well, nothing, obviously. Rezar will be out of action for at least another six months, and WWE doesn’t seem particularly interested in keeping Akam on TV without his partner. Injury has plagued the duo since they ascended to the main roster, and there are only so many setbacks one can endure before creative confidence is lost entirely.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
