10 WWE Wrestlers Who Break The Corporate Mould
8. Ruby Riott
It doesn't get more punk than this.
The Riott Squad leader and decorated indie performer - formerly known as Heidi Lovelace - is rather ill-fitting for the corporate mould that WWE has established with its female performers. Still, her outlandishly punk aesthetic and in-your-face attitude gives her a distinct presence on the main roster, which helps to shatter the outdated perceptions that some higher-ups have on women's wrestling.
Riott is covered in tattoos, and while this is common to an extent for a lot of wrestlers, the sheer amount on display and prominence on places such as her chest and neck make Riott's choices stand out. It's incredibly uncommon for the female wrestlers in WWE to be so heavily inked up, likely as there is a typical clean image that the company likes to present its women's division.
However, she is more than just the ink, as Riott's spirit and attitude genuinely contradict everything that a main roster female wrestler typically is, feeling like someone who is in WWE on her own terms.
She's a great example of women's evolution in World Wrestling Entertainment and will hopefully continue to shine.
