10 WWE Wrestlers Who Could Break Records Before 2020 Ends

10. Keith Lee — Longest North American Championship Reign

Okay, so NXT’s North American Championship might be one of the youngest titles in WWE, but you can only beat the records that are in front of you. Keith Lee currently holds the championship, having beaten Roderick Strong for the title back in January of this year. Lee has defeated all-comers in the months since, although the ‘all-comers’ in question have largely been Dominick Dijakovic.

Lee has just passed 100 days as champion, but he still has a ways to go before he can break the record for the fledgling title’s longest reign. That honour currently rests with Velveteen Dream, who enjoyed a 209-day run with the belt over the first nine months of 2019 before dropping the strap to, yes, Roderick Strong. NXT really is stuck in a rut.

The candles have barely stopped smoking on the NXT North American Championship’s second birthday cake and the title is already somewhat stagnant. It desperately needs a definitive reign, a lengthy run filled with competitive matches that comes to a satisfying end, not unlike Samoa Joe’s promotion-defining reign as ROH Champion. Keith Lee may well be just the man for the job.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
