10 WWE Wrestlers Who Could Have (And Should Have) Wrestled The Undertaker At WrestleMania

4. Chris Benoit

One of the greatest workers of all time, Chris Benoit was the heart and soul of the fabled "SmackDown Six," who made the blue brand must-see-TV over RAW. 'Taker, meanwhile, was the biggest superstar on SmackDown's roster, both as Big Evil and the reincarnated Deadman. When you consider how long those two spent on the same brand, it's insane that a major feud never culminated, let alone a program that led to a WrestleMania match.

There are two distinct opportunities WWE had to save 'Taker and Benoit from WrestleMania mediocrity. At 'Mania XIX, while Benoit was partnered with Rhyno in a triple threat tag team match, 'Taker was forced into a handicap match with Big Show and Albert. Three years later, at XXII, 'Taker defended his streak in a casket match against Mark Henry, while Benoit had to dubious honor of dropping the US title to JBL.

Given that Benoit was an absolute wrestling machine and 'Taker was one of the toughest guys backstage, their WrestleMania match could have been a stiff, brutal, memorable affair. Sadly, it was not to be.
