Woo, woo, woo!

In another era, one free of WWE gobbling up talent to fill Raw, SmackDown, 205 Live, NXT and a UK division, there's a chance Zack Ryder may have been released. It's not like the dude does much on WWE television these days (Ryder appeared on Raw exactly once throughout 2018), and he must be feeling a tad melancholic about his prospects in 2019.

At 33, Ryder may also be wondering to himself what life would be like outside the WWE bubble. Would he be taken more seriously? Without doubt. Likeable veterans who have been with the biggest company in the land for 14 years don't pop up on the indy scene every day, and so Zack would have some buzz heading into AEW.

Biting the bullet and joining Cody and The Bucks in All Elite would give Ryder the chance to show a side of his work WWE fans rarely see. He's a walking cartoon character there, not a serious pro wrestler, and he might just fancy changing that perception before it's too late.
