10 WWE Wrestlers Who Couldn't Live Up To The Hype
8. Nathan Jones
You remember Nathan Jones, right? He was the big Australian guy who served time before briefly becoming Undertaker's underwhelming understudy after making his way to the WWE in 2003.
There was a lot of hype behind him, too, in the early stages, but it soon became clear to everyone that he didn't quite have what it takes to make a meaningful go of things in the squared circle.
This was attributable to a couple of things, the first of which being that - apart from the ability to pull off a mean-looking stare - he was totally unconvincing in the ring. Add to that the fact that it didn't really make any sense for 'Big Evil' to recruit a sidekick, and his suddenly being shoehorned into WrestleMania XIX felt totally unnatural.
To WWE's credit, they realised their mistake before things went too far. Jones was cut from 'Mania and his alliance with 'Taker soon after dissolved. He then spent the remainder of his time on the company's books standing menacingly behind Brock Lesnar.
