3. Bobby Lashley

The fans who cruelly likened Bobby Lashley to a lesser Brock Lesnar must be kicking themselves a little bit now.

Lashley is an incredible athlete, however much it may be true that he isn't quite as incredible an athlete as the reigning Universal Champion. Whether it's in the Impact ring or the Bellator cage, you can't fail but to be impressed with him as a performer.

In WWE, then, it was perhaps simply a case of too much too soon. Lashley graduated from ECW in 2007 a promising prospect, but was made to run before he could walk by becoming the primary antagonist of Vince McMahon after helping Donald Trump to victory at WrestleMania 23.

An excellent world title match with John Cena apart, Lashley largely failed to live up to the billing of WWE's next big main event star, in the end being given his P45 early the following year after abruptly losing the faith of his employers.
