10 WWE Wrestlers Who Couldn't Live Up To The Hype

2. Scott Steiner

Perhaps it was timing as much as anything else that was to blame for Scott Steiner's damp squib of a WWE run between 2002 and 2003.

Had he made his debut about 18 months earlier, fresh from his WCW World Heavyweight Title reign, he might have played a key role in the Invasion angle - particularly given that the likes of Sting, Goldberg and the original cast of the New World Order were all conspicuous by their absence.

When he finally did sign on the dotted line, the WCW vs. WWE fantasy had already reached its disappointing climax, and worse still he was about to be joined by Goldberg, a man from whose shadow Big Poppa Pomp has always struggled to escape.

The booking didn't help either. Steiner spent an ordinate amount of his time on Monday Night Raw feuding with Test for the reluctant managerial services of Stacy Keibler, never really being given the opportunity to share any meaningful matches.
