When It Should Have Happened: If any healthy WWE Superstar deserved a prominent spot on the WrestleMania 32 card for their work from over the past year, it was Kevin Owens. On the night of his WWE debut in May 2015, he laid out John Cena, going on to defeat the then-United States champion in his first match as part of the main roster. Cena cut Owens' hot momentum short when he beat him at back-to-back pay-per-views, but Owens recovered nicely by winning the Intercontinental Championship at Night of Champions and again in February 2016.

As previously noted, he should have faced Sami Zayn in a singles match for the title at WrestleMania, but it wasn't meant to be. The Ladder match we received instead was a fun consolation prize, but Owens shouldn't have been an afterthought coming out of it.

Chances of It Happening In the Future: He will resume his rivalry with Zayn going into the spring season, but the two are such strong rivals it wouldn't be out of the question for them to face off one-on-one at a future installment. As one of WWE's last true heels, Owens should be toward the top of the card come WrestleMania 33, preferably in a singles match-up.

Owens is early enough into his WWE run that the chances of him scoring a singles match at 'Mania are extremely likely in the years to come.
