10 WWE Wrestlers Who Desperately Need To Be Repackaged In 2021
1. Braun Strowman
It has been an odd year for Braun Strowman. From a championship standpoint, he’s never had more success than in 2020; he captured the Intercontinental title in January, and it took a 3-on-1 handicap match, at the Elimination Chamber PPV, for the belt to be pried out of his hands. He followed that up by defeating Goldberg at WrestleMania 36 to claim his first Universal Title. Despite his successes, Strowman hasn’t been involved in a single compelling rivalry this year.
The biggest reason for that is Strowman’s inability to cut a promo. It’s not entirely his fault, as they are often scripted in a clunky manner, but when it comes to his delivery, Strowman is unable to come across as anything other than angry. Strowman’s promos only inform fans of three things: He can’t talk without screaming, he has hands and everyone is going to get them, and he is The Monster Among Men. His character hasn’t changed since he left The Wyatt Family in the 2016 WWE Draft and it has become stale.
Recently, Strowman hasn’t even looked like a giant, with his latest rivals being Dabba-Kato and Keith Lee. WWE needs to seriously re-think how they present Strowman because, with his size and skillset, he is a believable Universal Championship contender. If creative can give his character a purpose and he can make his promos two-dimensional, Strowman could get those hands back on RAW’s top prize and, this time, be more than just a placeholder champion.
