10 WWE Wrestlers Who Desperately Need To Be Repackaged In 2021
8. King Corbin
It’s time for the most recent King of the Ring winner to abdicate the throne. Baron Corbin has gone through a number of transformations since his arrival on the main roster in 2016. Corbin was Mr. Money in the Bank, he had a two months run with the US title, and he was an authority figure on RAW, before his run as King Corbin. While Corbin is an effective heel, King of the Ring winners parading around as though they are royalty is an ineffective gimmick and it’s time to give the big man a different character.
Corbin takes a lot of flak from the WWE Universe for being an annoying character, which is exactly what makes him an excellent heel. He possesses an underrated moveset and at a height of 6’6” and a weight of 285 lbs, Corbin should be one of the premier giants on SmackDown. He is currently in a rivalry with Murphy and the Mysterio family but, while the matches have been solid, it’s hard to believe winning this feud will change his positioning on the card.
Corbin needs to drop the King gimmick and be given a focus. An easy way to give a character credibility is to have them pursue a championship. Based on size alone, Corbin is a credible threat to Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental title. Corbin should be in feuds that don’t involve titles, but if WWE want him to reach his potential, his end game should always be to win championships.
