10 WWE Wrestlers Who Didn't Do What Was Best For Business

3. Roman Reigns Pulls Out Of WrestleMania

Roman Reigns was again given a golden opportunity to win over a sometimes polarizing WWE fan base. Reigns received a WWE Universal title match at WrestleMania 36 against Bill Goldberg. However, the dream match would never happen and he missed out on a signature win against a WWE and WCW legend.

Just days before WrestleMania, Reigns removed himself from the match and was replaced by Braun Strowman. Strowman went on to defeat Goldberg for the title. Ryan Satin reported that the reason was due to health concerns over the ongoing pandemic.

The decision was controversial for a few reasons. Most WWE Superstars worked through the pandemic and have continued to do so without taking a sabbatical. Reigns returned recently and immediately took his place back at the top of the card by defeating Strowman and The Fiend for the Universal title. Controversy aside, fans will hopefully soon get the spear vs. spear match they missed at WrestleMania.
