10 WWE Wrestlers Who Got Buried Because Of Their Tag Partner
4. Cryme Tyme
Cryme Tyme were a hugely popular act when they debuted for the company in 2006. Even though their gimmick only reinforced them as stereotypical street thugs, they got over in a big way with their vignettes a backstage bits with a variety of different wrestlers.
But their luck took a turn for the worse in a match with Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch on a house show. The finish to the match went wrong, with Shad Gaspard then improvising and having some fun with the referee after the bout. To entertain the crowd further, he took the man in the middle's belt and auctioning it off to the live crowd.
This didn’t go down well backstage, with Gaspard getting into a shouting match with the agent for the match Barry Windham. Windham took issue with Shad pressuring the referee on the spot, before John Cena himself even got involved, berating Shad and JTG. They were released the very next day.
Thankfully it was temporary - Cryme Tyme returned to WWE the following year, briefly forming a ‘CTC’ (Cryme Tyme Cenation) alliance with 'The Champ' following their reintroduction.
